Safety stock or inventory can support a supply chain by adjusting supply and demand with variability and uncertainty. MESSA is designed to find an optimal allocation of safety stocks for multiple inventory points in supply chain. The stock allocation decision is used to optimize the trade-offs between customer services and safety stock costs.
